Born on an isolated island in Ryūkyū, he grew up without being able to read and write. He used to live as a pirate, but since he retired, he has survived with his own skill.（琉球の孤島で生まれ読み書きが出来ないまま育った。海賊を生業としていたこともあるが、退いてからは身一つで生き抜いている。）
