Origin of Jin | 仁の由来
It is one of the “five confucian virtues” in Confucianism.
儒教における『五常の徳』のひとつです。
“Five Confucian Virtues” are the five Confucian virtues, which refer to “仁(humanity),” “義(righteousness),” “礼(good manner etc.),” “智(wisdom),” and “信(belief).”
『五常の徳』とは、儒教の5つの徳目で、『仁』『義』『礼』『智』『信』を指します。
In addition, Confucius does not have a clear definition of “jin”, and answers variously depending on the questioner in “The Analects”.
また孔子は『仁』について明確な定義をしておらず、『論語』の中で質問相手によって様々に答えています。

相手が気に入るように巧みに飾られた言葉を述べたり、うわべだけ愛想よく取り繕ったりするような人に仁は無い。(学而)
